Vietnam
Land of Contrasts
br

Vietnam is a country of striking contrasts. One day you are standing in the cool mountain air of Sa Pa, Vietnam 's highest and most northern city, in a tribal village of Black H 'mong, and the next you are navigating the organized chaos of Hanoi or the entrepreneurial pulse of Ho Chi Minh City. The country reveals itself in layers: French colonial architecture, Buddhist temples, war memorials, rice terraces, and the unforgettable aromas drifting from street-side kitchens. From the bustling streets of Saigon to the more measured and politically historic atmosphere of Hanoi to fertile river deltas and quiet countryside. The enduring legacy of the Vietnam War and how memories and perspectives can differ between North and South. And, of course, its extraordinary food culture: steaming bowls of pho, hammock cafés, fried tarantulas.
